Date of Foundation April 2000.

History of The Association
In 1952, based on the Export and Import Transaction Act, The Japan Textile Products Exporters Association, Japan Woollen & Linen Textiles Exporters Association, Japan Cotton Textiles Exporters Association and Japan Silk & Synthetic Textiles Exporters Association were established with the approval of the Minister of International Trade and Industry.

In 1997, Japan Cotton Textiles Exporters Association merged with Japan Silk & Synthetic Textiles Exporters Association.

In 2000, the three associations merged to form Japan Textiles Exporters Association.

Authorizing law and Classification A public interest corporation under the Export and Import Transaction Act related the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Objectives The purpose of the JTEA is to establish order in export transactions, to prevent unfair export transactions and to promote the common interests of its members, and thereby to promote the sound development of export trade in textiles and textile products.
